Learn to sail - SBF Binnen Segel

Sailing is a form of transportation that has been around for thousands of years. From today's perspective, quiet and environmentally friendly. At the moment, people are even thinking about using sailing again in commercial freight transport with the help of the most modern technologies. But currently more and more people are enjoying this type of water sport in their free time. Whether cruising or regatta, small sailing dinghy or large yacht, the basics and principles of sailing are the same everywhere.

With a little more wind, all sailboats develop a lot of power. Actually, everyone who has had to hold on to a children's kite in gusty winds has experienced this. That's why sailing should be learned in a school where, in addition to the basics, you are confronted with various challenges in a controlled manner. Rescue workers plan and practice emergencies so that they can then react correctly. On the water you can't just pull over like you can with a car, which is why every good sailor has a few rules of conduct and procedures in mind to avoid breaking the mast and sheet. You can learn this here at the boat driving school.

Learn to sail - SBF inland sails

In this course you will learn the basics of sailing. The goal is to be able to safely control their boat independently in light to medium winds, sail efficiently from A to B and deal with dangerous situations. You won't be an old sea dog after this; it is recommended that you continue sailing regularly after the course. This would be possible with us, among other things, in the sailboat sharing program. Basic maneuvers such as tacking, gybing, sail trim, 9 knots, launching and the man overboard maneuver are practiced. The sailing course takes place on small keelboats. The teacher is on board, so you get better support and more feedback (maximum 2 students). There is no risk of capsizing as with sailing dinghies. Stable keelboats also allow people who are no longer particularly athletic and agile to learn to sail and are perfect as an introduction for future cruising sailors. Anyone who would like to acquire the SKS (sports coastal boating license) in the future can acquire the necessary basics for the advanced SKS on similar boats at SBF Binnen. After the course, the official recreational boat license (SBF) for inland waters can be acquired on the practice boat from an external examination committee. The committee charges an additional examination fee for the purchase, which is not included in the course price. There are no driving licenses required for sailors on many waters in Germany. Nevertheless, you should know how to sail and rental companies will also be happy to provide proof. For sports vehicles under sail with a sail area of more than 6m², a driving license (SBF-Binnen Segel) is required on the federal inland waterways in the area of the state of Berlin (except Zeuthener See and Dämeritzsee). In addition, this driving license requirement also applies on the parts of the Lower Havel waterway in the state of Brandenburg from the northern tip of the Pfaueninsel to river kilometer 16.4 as well as on the Havel-Oder waterway from km 6.4 to km 10.2 including Nieder Neuendorfer See .
